Success for the Aquaphobes at Huntingdon Head

Last Sunday, 3 Cantabs crews travelled to Huntingdon to represent Cantabs at the Huntingdon Head. The men’s masters crews, Activ8 and the Aquaphobes raced in MasC.8+, and Andrew Morley contested the MasBC.1x event.

A good, sunny day with a strong crosswind gave the crews a real test over the 4.5km course. Both coxes did an expert job at steering unfamiliar boats, kindly lent by Huntingdon BC, over an unfamiliar course. A combination of great corners and cox Emma Smith inspiring the Aquaphobes to give it their all saw them finish in 15:17, 7th fastest crew overall and the fastest in their event. Activ8 and Andrew Morley also enjoyed a good race, both finishing 2nd in the events.
