Cantabs dominate Robs Small Boats Head

Saturday 29th October saw the first head race of the 2018/19 season take place, with Rob Roy Small Boats Head. The event, open to singles, pairs, doubles, quads and fours, is contested over 2,600m on the Cam. Cantabs had the largest number of entries of any club (43) as well as the largest number of wins.

Cantabs finished as the fastest women’s 4x, 2- and 1x, also winning the novice single scull. The W4x was the fastest women’s crew of the day, finishing 8th overall.

Fastest W2-

The 2nd fastest crew of the day was the W2- of Ellie Darlington and Andrea de Bruin. Christina Woolner and Sue Hakenbeck were the fastest W.MasB.2x, and Cantabs athletes occupied the top 3 spots in the W.NOV.1x event.

The men’s crews also had a good day, with Andrew Marsden and Ricci Conci finishing as the fastest M2-, and Creon Taoself had a fantastic race to win the men’s novice singles.

The Cantabs juniors had a very successful day, finishing with wins in the girls’ J17 and J18 doubles, boys’ J17 4x+ and 2x, and boys’ J16 single.
