Town Bumps Time Race

The evening of 5th July saw the CRA Time Race take place along the Cam. This race is used for any ‘new’ entries into Town Bumps, as well as being an opportunity for crews to get some racing practice in before Town Bumps begins next Tuesday.

Intermediate Men – 2nd overall

There were 7 Cantabs entries, all of them finishing with good results. The Intermediate Men finished 2nd overall, only 4 seconds behind the winners, despite having to come to a complete halt and restart due to a white cruiser which had got into the racing line. The Hunter Crew and InveterEight finished as the 3rd and 4th fastest masters men’s eights, with the J15 boys and After Motley also taking advantage of this useful Town Bumps preparation.

Progression Squad

The Intermediate Women’s Squad 8+ had a good race and finished as the 3rd fastest women’s crew, ahead of Senior Squad crews from X-Press and City of Cambridge. The Women’s Progression Squad had a good race together to finish 10th.

Next week, Cantabs will have 16 men’s and 11 women’s crews entered into Town Bumps, equalling last year’s record for the most crews entered into Town Bumps.
