Boathouse Development Work Begins

Work on the first phase of the boathouse development is scheduled to start this week (w/c 29th October).  This phase, which is expected to take approximately six months, will provide us with additional boat storage and space upstairs for land training.  Club members can remind themselves of the details of the plan from the minutes of the January EGM.

Initial ground works and piling are expected to be completed in the next five weeks, with work taking place between ~8am and dusk.  Anyone using the boathouse site is asked to be aware that there could be machinery moving on the access track and around the boathouse during this time.  Please leave bicycles parked around the far side of the Portakabin, so there is no risk of them obstructing access or getting damaged.  The site is likely to get quite muddy, so please take extra care.

In about two weeks time, we will be unable to use the weights room for ~12 days.  Further information will be posted about this when arrangements are finalised.

Massive thanks are due to Andy Johnson for his tireless work in getting this project started.  The extra space will be invaluable as the club continues to thrive, so members are asked to be patient about the inevitable short-term disruption.
