3 medals at British Masters 2022

The Senior Women had a successful weekend at British Masters in June, coming away with 3 medals from 5 events.

Despite some gnarly conditions on the Saturday which threatened to cancel racing, ChiYing Chen came home with a comfortable gold in the lightweight women’s masters B 1x.

Bronze in WMasA2x

There was also single sculls racing for Evelyn Svingen, who raced well to finish 4th in women’s masters A 1x, racing as a lightweight in an openweight field against athletes who have competed and won at HWR and HRR.

ChiYing and Evelyn – both winners at Scullers Head this season – then teamed up and won bronze in the women’s masters A 2x.

On the Sunday, it was a 3rd place finish for Gill Cooper and Judith Weik in the women’s masters CDE 2-, which they followed up with a gold in the women’s masters CD 4- when teaming up with Sarah Coates-Holland and Debbie Morley.
