The club awards for 2019-20 would have been awarded at the dinner in May, but a certain global pandemic put paid to that plan. Mike Hunter instead announced the award winners at an online social event on 12th December. There were many deserving nominees for all the awards and Mike took the opportunity to thank all the coaches and other volunteers that have made invaluable contributions over the last 18 months, both during our rowing activities and through the lockdowns. We also raised a glass in memory of Andy Johnson, who had such a tremendous impact on the club.
The awards went to:
o John Curzon Award for Rowing Achievement: Senior Women’s Squad
o Junior Achievement: Hills Road M1
o Award for Rowing Improvement: Paul Hoeggar
o Ron Davies Coaching Award: Chris Radbone
o Coxing Award: Chris Howard
o Volunteering Award: Junior Coaching & Support Team
