Senior Women Win at Hammersmith Head

A crew from the Senior Women’s Squad raced at Hammersmith Head on Saturday 2nd March, and came away with a win. The course is effectively the first two-thirds of the WEHORR course (from the start at Chiswick Bridge to Hammersmith Bridge), making it good preparation for the race 2 weeks later.

In their first Tideway race of 2019, Andrea de Bruin, Ellie Darlington, Ann Laube, Valentina Sassow, Eleanor Milne, Eve Beere, Deborah Oakley and Georgia Vann raced well, with cox Amy Henfrey steering them confidently through overtakes of slower crews to win the Women’s Intermediate 8+ event.

The crew were the 4th fastest W8+ overall, the 2 fastest crews being the CUW Blue Boat and Blondie, giving the Cantabs crew confidence as they go into their final preparations for WEHORR.
