Fastest women at Head of the Cam

16 Cantabs crews took part in the Head of the Cam on Saturday 28th April, with 7 crews coming away victorious in their events.

An 8+ from the Senior Women’s Squad finished as the fastest women overall, 27 seconds clear of the 2nd placed crew over the 2600m course. Their time put them faster than a number of Cambridge college men’s 1st eights. There were also wins for the Senior Women in smaller boats, as they finished as the fastest W4+ of the day and joint fastest W2- of the day.

The Women’s Progression Squad had a good race to finish 2nd in W.NOV.8+. The Hills Road boys were the only NOV.8+ entry, but their time was faster than the winning IM3.8+ entry from Champion of the Thames. However, the Hills Road boys were successful in the NOV.2x and NOV.4+ events, which they won 48 seconds clear of the 2nd place crew from City of Cambridge.

The Aquaphobes had a good race to finish 2nd in MasC.8+, with the Diddymen close behind in 3rd.

Hadi Boukhatmi finished as the fastest sculler of the day, with Andrew Morley winning the MasC.1x event.
