Help others try rowing at the Big Weekend

Can anyone spare some time on Saturday 7th July to help people try out ergs as part of the Big Weekend event ahead of the arrival of the Olympic torch?  Details and instructions below.  If you can help, please consider wearing some Cantabs kit to your session, to help raise the profile of the club.

Subject: Rowing Coaching Help Needed at Big Weekend Event

Hi Bill,
Could you please circulate this doodle link below to the rowing clubs in Cambridge? I have been asked to find one or two coaches to help the general public try ergometer rowing on Saturday 7 July at the Everyone Active tent in the Sports Zone on Parkers Piece for this weekend’s Big Weekend event. Apology for short notice; I was asked yesterday. This celebration coincides with the arrival in town of the Olympic torch so should be a fun and busy place. I am told that the ergs will be under cover so nice and dry in the event of rain. The two ergs are being supplied by Everyone Active.
This is a nice opportunity for local rowing clubs to promote their club and to help promote the sport of rowing so I hope local rowing club members of all ages will volunteer. The help would be very much appreciated. From similar events in the past, I can say that the ergs are always very popular so the time spent coaching zips by. If anyone wants to coach for more than half an hour, just tick more than one box on the doodle chart:
Could those who volunteer please email me  so that I can email you back specific directions on where to go on the day?  Send e-mail to communications at the mail address specified here.
Thank you!

All best wishes,
