Multiple wins at Robs Heads

Fastest women overall at Robs Small Boats Head and 7 wins at Robs Autumn Head were among some great results for Cantabs in October head racing on the Cam.

Over 2 weekends in October, Cantabs enjoyed some fantastic wins including several from the Junior Performance Squad and Senior Women’s Squads, as well as other promising results.

Robs Small Boats Head

Robs Small Boats Head saw many entries across the club and saw the junior squad dominate. The J16 girls’ 4x were not just the fastest JW4x but also the fastest women’s crew overall.

The Cantabs juniors were also the fastest women’s 2x overall in the WJ15 2x and fastest men’s 2x overall in the J18 2x.

There were also wins in the WJ17 double, J18 single and women’s novice 1x to top off a great day of racing.

Robs Autumn Head

Racing in larger boats this time, Robs Autumn Head saw 6 wins in women’s events, as well as a dead heat win in the Men’s 4-.

The fastest women’s crew of the day were a Cantabs W4-, beating all women’s eights. The crew consisted of half of the 2021 8+ who pre-qualified for Henley Royal Regatta and held the Town Bumps Headship, racing as part of preparation for Fours Head.

Also preparing for Fours Head were other crews from the Senior Women’s Squad, including the fastest W4x of the day, and fastest and 2nd fastest W4+ of the day.

Cantabs were also fastest in all other events entered including the Junior Women’s 8+, Women’s Masters 8+ and Junior Women’s 4x (J15).
