2022's edition of Fairbairns saw the Cantabs women win the Women's Invitational 8+ for the 10th consecutive year.
The Fairbairn Cup marks the final race of the first term of training for Cambridge University students, as well as an opportunity for club crews to race a longer course on the Cam. Due to racing taking place during working hours on a Friday, this can mean some atypical line-ups take to the water from Cantabs, but also makes for some exciting racing.
The Cantabs women enjoyed some good results, with the 8+ finishing as the fastest women's crew of the day, and winning the women's invitational event for the 10th consecutive year. They also finished as the fastest women's invitational 4+.
The Cantabs men raced well, with the Senior Men finishing as the 3rd M8+ and 29th fastest crews of the day, the Aquaphobes finishing 41st and a mixed 8+ (the 'Harlequins') racing as an 8+ time only in a shorter division.
Cambridge alumni crews also raced, with Cantabs members in among the fastest alumni crews. Ricci Herreros-Symons was in the fastest men's alumni crew with Jesus College, and Rosanna Barraclough, Cait Findlay and Lucy Walker in the fastest women's alumni crew with Newnham College.
