Cantabs had a good weekend on the Tideway, with women's crews racing at both the Fours Head and Vet Fours Head, with an incredible win at Vet Fours Head.
This year's Fours Head had been massively oversubscribed with an early close of entry, meaning that only 3 Cantabs crews (a Women's Club 4-, 4+ and 4x) were accepted. The crews all raced well, in what was a first Tideway experience for many, with results including a 6th place finish for the 4+ and 7th for the 4x.
Vet Fours Head saw some doubling up, with 3 of the 4x joined by Amanda Clarkson from the 4+, racing well to finish as the 3rd WMasA4x. Elsewhere, there was some great racing by the WMasABC4- (after some substitutions were made, the crew was classified as MasB but was actually MasC) to finish 2nd in their event behind a strong MasA crew. Topping off a 3rd place and a 2nd place came a 1st place finish, however, for the WMasA4+ from the Intermediate Squad who finished over a minute ahead of the 2nd placed crew in their event.
