The Racks Out crew will soon be travelling to Heidelberg, to participate in the Rowing Against Cancer (‘Rudern gegen Krebs’) regatta on Sat 17 September. We will be racing in the grand finale against the City of Heidelberg and against a just-announced late entrant: the German Men’s 8, silver medalists in Rio!
The regatta is a kind of Row for Life: one of a series held across Germany to raise funds for the charity Leben mit Krebs (Living with Cancer), which funds sporting and other projects to enhance life for people who have cancer.
We are especially pleased to be participating because several crew members work (or formerly worked) in the health sector, often in senior positions, and because each of us has had our lives touched by cancer.
If anyone would like to join us in making a donation to Leben mit Krebs, could you please contact me? You can give me cash or do a bank transfer – JustGiving does not cover European charities. Donation amounts will be kept confidential, but we will happily add your names to the ceremonial cheque that we will, apparently, be handing over!
With best wishes,
Jane Gilbert

Good luck to Racks Out for their row and fund-raising!
