Success at Oxford Regatta 2019

There were strong performances last weekend in Oxford, as the Senior Squads sent some crews to race at Oxford City Royal Regatta (Saturday) and Oxford City Sprints (Sunday).

Harry Turner raced well on both days, winning the Men’s Band 4 Singles on the Saturday and the Men’s Band 3 Singles on the Sunday. Jack Goode raced well to make the final of the Men’s Band 1 Singles.

Christina Woolner and Sue Hakenbeck dominated the W.MasAB.2x event, coping well with poor steering by a slower crew in the first round and beating Cambridge 99 in the final with an easily verdict. They next race at the World Masters Championships in September.

There were strong performances from various 4+ combinations across the weekend, with both the crews making their respective finals on the Saturday. On the Sunday, Will Cherry, Matt Lister, Jeremy Austin, Will Crowther and cox Emily Staplehurst won the Men’s Band 3 Coxed Four event after making some good improvements as a scratch crew over the course of the two days of racing.
