Cantabs had 27 entries from squads from juniors to masters, sculling to sweep, at 2022's Sudbury International Regatta and came home with 13 wins.
The Junior Squad had a great day, with many juniors doubling up and some racing off-Cam for the first time. They came home with prizes for winning the J18 single and girls' J13 single sculls, the girls' J14 and J16 double sculls, and the girls' J17 quads.
On the other end of the age range, there were 4 wins in masters events. Andrew Morley won the Masters D 1x, and went on to team up (and win) with men's captain Finn Grimwood in the Masters BCD 2x. In the women's events, a crew from the Intermediate Women won the Masters DE 4+, whilst a crew from the Senior Women won the Masters AB equivalent. This was the first regatta win for some of the athletes in these crews.
Elsewhere, the Senior Squads enjoyed wins in the Women's Novice 1x for Laura Blenkarn, the Women's 4+ for the Senior Women, the Championship 4+ for the Senior Men, and the Mixed 8+ which combined athletes from both Senior Squads.
Thank you to Sudbury RC for an ever-enjoyable regatta and to Jon Winch and Nick Acock for towing.
