“It was a beautiful if windy day at the national water sports centre. The Women’s Masters D coxed 4 1000m competition was a straight six-lane final with Cantabs in lane 4. Cantabs lead off the start but were overtaken at approximately 500 m by the eventual winners, Weybridge/Weybridge Ladies in lane 1. It was a bow-to-bow 3-boat-finish for second place with Cantabs being pipped to the post by Monmouth by 0.6 seconds. A gutsy bronze medal!
