Sunday 6th October saw a Cantabs crew win at Pairs Head for the 5th time in the last 4 years, as Elena Williams and Ellie Darlington triumphed in the Women’s Intermediate 2x event.
There was also a strong performance from Jack Goode and Jeremy Austin, who finished 2nd in the Men’s Lightweight 2x event. Harry Turner and James Evry raced well in the same event, unfortunately suffering from equipment problems during the race and finishing 7th.
Judith Weik and Gill Cooper, winners of this event last year, raced well in W.MasD.2-, but were bettered by a crew containing former international athletes.
Elsewhere, there were 5th place finishes in W.MasB.2x and Intermediate J18.2-, 6th in Intermediate W2-, and a solid 3rd place in Club W.J18.2- for Amy Hill and Lucy Jennion, racing small boats on the Tideway for the first time.
