All members of the club are encouraged to read the British Rowing Code of Conduct, which establishes the standards of behaviour British Rowing expects from all participants in Rowing, and is available from Policies and Guidance – British Rowing.
Child Safeguarding and Welfare
Cantabs is committed to providing a safe environment for its junior members, by operating within British Rowing’s Row Safe guidance for Juniors and abiding by British Rowing’s Child Welfare policies and procedures, notably those listed in the Welfare section of Policies and Guidance – British Rowing.
British Rowing’s Safeguarding Strategy and Policies published on BR’s Safeguarding page provide an overview of BR’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children in our sport. Juniors, volunteers and coaches should be particularly aware of the procedures listed in Handbook 2 – Handling Concerns at Safeguarding – British Rowing.
Anyone who has concerns or questions with regards to a potential child welfare issue should contact the club Welfare Officer or any other member of the committee.
Adults and juniors alike are encouraged to read the Cantabs electronic communications guidelines. If you have an informal question with regards to these guidelines you can email the welfare officer on cantabscwo@gmail.com. For formal concerns or complaints please use the form on the committee page.
Adults at Risk
The club operates within the good practice advised within British Rowing’s guidance to safeguard vulnerable adults from harm and abuse, as detailed in the relevant policies. Anyone who has concerns or questions with regards to a potential welfare issue affecting an adult who has health or social care needs should contact the club Welfare Officer or any other member of the committee.
